Don't be grateful for what didn't happen!

I am not the most eloquent of writers, but I do love
to read a good one. That is my main reason for
posting some of the daily articles I receive. Most
of them really don't need any comment from me to make
them readable.
Here's one I got yesterday afternoon:

Shooting Yourself in the Foot

"What you focus on is what grows"
- - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Have you ever heard the old saying, "Big gates
swing on little hinges?" What it means, of course,
is that sometimes little things are what determine
the outcome of big things.

Obviously we want to get the big things AND the
little things all lined up together so we create
what we want in life.

Unfortunately there's one little idea that it's easy for
you to get wrong - with gratitude, and with affirmations,
and with visualizations. Then you wonder why "none
of this stuff works!" I made this mistake for years.

Want to know what that is? It's really simple. You
focus on what you DON"T want instead of what you
DO want. Then you wonder why you get more of what
you don't want.

If you have financial issues, do you focus on getting out
of debt? If you want a relationship do you focus on not
getting another one just like the last one? Are you
grateful for what didn't happen instead of what did
happen?

If you want consistency in your results, you'll need
to train yourself to always focus on what you want
and eliminate the negative framing of your desires.

You don't want to get out of debt, you want healthy
and prosperous finances. You don't want to avoid
another bad relationship, you want a loving, exciting,
joyful, spiritual relationship. You're grateful for a safe
trip, not for not having an accident. See what I mean?

Where you're focused, what the picture is that you
have in your mind, is what you're ordering from the
Universe. If you're not getting what you think you're
ordering, check to make sure you're not focused
on the negative by mistake.

And don't be grateful for what didn't happen!

Here's to having a lot to be grateful for,
Wes

Hey Cat...so true, so true...! We must stay positive about things these days if we are to remain sane in crazy times. And so often the little things can help us focus positively on the bigger things.

Thanks for such a good post.
